Hospitality ministers, also known as wardens, act as ushers and greeters to serve and welcome all who come to the Cathedral for Mass and other events it organises. They attend to those with mobility needs, handle enquiries, see to crowd control and safety, and are there to promote a sense of belonging to all who enter the Cathedral.
They also ensure that the proceedings for Mass are smooth and dignified.
Among their duties during liturgical celebrations:
- Ensure that the gifts of bread and wine are in their proper places before Mass and the faithful are there to offer up the gifts
- Handle the collection of monies during the Offertory
- Facilitate the flow of worshippers during Holy Communion
If you would like to join the ministry, do approach those on duty at the weekend Masses.
