Eucharistic Adoration Ministry
Eucharistic Adoration is an act of love, a form of devotion to Jesus Christ, who is present in the Blessed Sacrament in our 24-hour adoration room.
The Gospel (John chapter 6) proclaims that Jesus is truly present in Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the sacred Host.
The ministry aims to foster the spiritual growth and strengthen the faith of those who visit the Eucharistic Lord regularly.
Volunteer members, who are from parishes around the diocese, take turns to be rostered and be present before the Lord for at least an hour every day, to pray in silence, give thanks, or just to find time to listen to Him. Those who volunteer do not lead any prayers.
There are security guards from 9pm to 9am with surveillance cameras on site and around the whole of the Cathedral compound, to ensure that those who come to pray do so in a safe environment.
